Privacy policy

How I handle personal data, in plain English. Last updated 30 October 2026.

Who I am

Lekker Marketing is a sole trader business run by Alex Walls from Ilfracombe, Devon (EX34 9QX), United Kingdom. For UK GDPR, I am the data controller for the personal data described below.

Email [email protected] or call +44 7473 168 116.

What this policy covers

  • This website, lekker.marketing, including the contact forms and the free SEO tools.
  • Client work: SEO audits, ongoing SEO and the monthly AI visibility plans.
  • The OpenSEO application, a private SEO tool I run for my own and my clients' work.

When you contact me

The contact form collects your name, email address, your website address if you give one, and your message. The AI visibility onboarding form collects the answers you fill in about your business and the plan you want.

Forms are delivered by Web3Forms, which passes the submission to my inbox. I use what you send to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to do the work. The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries, and taking steps at your request before entering a contract.

The onboarding form saves a draft of your answers in your own browser (session storage) so they survive a failed submission. That stays on your device and is cleared when the form is sent.

When you use the free SEO tools

The free SEO health check sends the web address you enter to a checking service I run at seocheck-ten.vercel.app, hosted by Vercel, which fetches that page and scores it. Enter a public web address, not a page containing personal data.

If you ask for the report by email, your email address, the page checked and the score are sent to me through Web3Forms. There is a tick box asking whether you are happy to be followed up once. If you leave it unticked, I will send the report and nothing else. That tick box is your consent, and you can withdraw it by emailing me.

The other tools on free SEO tools run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent to me.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand which pages are read and which bring enquiries. These set cookies in your browser and send Google information about your visit, including a device identifier and the pages you view. I also record when a visit arrives from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT or Perplexity, so that those visits can be reported as their own channel.

I do not use advertising cookies, I do not sell data, and I do not try to identify individual visitors.

You can block analytics with a browser extension such as Google's opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings.

Client work

When you become a client I hold what you give me to do the job: your business details, access you grant to Search Console, Analytics or your website, and the work I produce for you. I use it only to do that work.

The monthly AI visibility plans have their own commitments on what I hold, your right to a copy and deletion 90 days after the plan ends. Those are set out in the AI visibility plan terms.

The OpenSEO application

OpenSEO is a self-hosted SEO application I operate. It is a private tool, used for my own and my clients' SEO work. Access requires an account that I create or invite, and it is not open to public registration.

Google user data it accesses

When you connect a Google account, the application requests read-only access to:

  • Google Search Console (webmasters.readonly): clicks, impressions, positions and URL inspection data for properties you own or manage.
  • Google Analytics (analytics.readonly, through the Analytics Admin and Data APIs): GA4 property metadata and reporting data.

It requests read-only scopes only. The application cannot change your Google account, your Search Console or your Analytics data.

How that data is used

Google data is retrieved on demand and shown inside the application, to analyse and report on website SEO performance. It is not used for advertising, it is not sold, and it is not shared with third parties except as strictly necessary to operate the application, which means my hosting provider, Cloudflare. SEO data that does not come from Google is sourced separately from DataForSEO, which does not receive your Google data.

Storage and retention

OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest. Google data retrieved for reports is stored only as long as needed to display and cache results inside the application, on my Cloudflare account, and is deleted when the related project or connection is removed.

Limited Use

My use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access

You can disconnect a Google account at any time inside the application, or revoke the application's access from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Who else handles your data

I use these services to run the business. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.

  • Cloudflare: hosts this website and the OpenSEO application.
  • Web3Forms: delivers form submissions to my inbox.
  • Vercel: hosts the service behind the free SEO health check.
  • Google: Analytics and Tag Manager on this site, and Search Console and Analytics data in OpenSEO.
  • DataForSEO: supplies SEO data that does not come from Google.

Some of these are outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the provider's standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

I do not sell your data, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask me to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data I hold about you;
  • correct it if it is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • stop or limit what I do with it;
  • send it to you, or to someone else, in a portable format;
  • stop relying on legitimate interests where you object.

Email [email protected] and I will deal with it within a month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how I have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or call 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes I will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant and I hold your data, I will tell you by email.
